Brigid’s eternal flame sparks our resolve. We declare our intentions and make them real.
Imbolc with Baltimore Reclaiming
Saturday, February 7, 2026
Please arriving beginning at 6:00pm for a 6:30 start (upstairs main hall)
Homewood Friends Meeting House
3107 North Charles Street, Baltimore Maryland 21218
We will crystallize our vision into a short, pithy phrase and a set of images, and proudly declare and charge them together. For maximum clarity and effectiveness, you'll want to formulate your dedication into a short, pithy phrase (no more than six words, and ideally three or less) that can serve as power-packed seed.
The next step is to represent your dedication in imagery that speaks to all parts of your Self. Working with the growing light, and Brigid's flame, this is a candle-working spell. Bring to the ritual a candle decorated to represent your dedication. Generally we use 7 day candles -- the kind in glass jars -- with the glass painted, collaged, written on, glittered, etc., but you may bring any kind of candle you like that represents your working.
In sacred space, we will each declare our dedication to be witnessed and affirmed and celebrated by the group, and light our candles. Then we'll raise some energy to empower all of the workings. At the end of the ritual, we'll blow out the candles, take them home, and relight them to finish the spell. Some folks burn them all at once, over the next seven days to seal the spell. Others burn them throughout the year, as they work with their dedication.
Come with your decorated candle, drums, musical instruments, and your voice.
Who is Baltimore Reclaiming?
Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are a group of witches, artists, pagans, healers, activists, queers, priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world.
Cost: Baltimore Reclaiming does not charge for our events, but we do have considerable expenses which include renting the space. For this ritual, we suggest a $10 contribution per person. No one is turned away for lack of funds. You are fully welcome regardless of your ability to financially donate.
Drugs & Alcohol: All Baltimore Reclaiming events are drug and alcohol free. We respectfully request that you do not use drugs or alcohol before or while attending our events.
Scent Policy: We strive to accommodate people who have chemical and scent sensitivities. Please keep these people in mind as you make choices about wearing scented personal hygiene products.
Masking Policy: Baltimore Reclaiming has made the decision this year to make masking encouraged, but optional. Please test for Covid before coming, and don't come if you're feeling sick!
