Beltane

  • Druid Hill Park (Susquehannock Pavilion) (map)

Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel our Beltane ritual due to the weather.

Ritual Intention: We open our hearts to the Mystery that surrounds us and weave the wyrd with the spirits of the land.
Date: May 4, 2024
Time: Arrive 12:30 for a 1 pm ritual start
Location: Susquehannock Pavilion at Druid Hill Park

Happy Beltane, witches. This time of the year as we open our senses, we might notice the earth’s breath is moist and warm on our skin. It scents the air with green, and life is frantically building and building in every garden, forest, and field. The Spirits of Place around us celebrate the beginning of summer in a creative, sexy, ecstatic frenzy.

Meanwhile, we witches of Baltimore Reclaiming are busy Courting Mystery. At Samhain we flocked together, seeking our Mysterious Ones. At Solstice we invited Mystery to dive deep within us and know our grief, embracing its beauty. At Imbolc, Mystery heard our pledges for the year to come and at Spring Equinox, our mysterious ones introduced us to plant allies to assist us in achieving our dreams. Mystery has been working hard for us, as we have moved along the Seeker’s path.

We find ourselves now facing a world full of ecstasy, love, beauty, pain, conflict, and injustice, all at the same time. And we are not in this moment alone, not the only ones experiencing all of this at once. Mystery is there with us, inviting us to dive deep into the Well and discover every skill, feeling, and intuition that can make us priestexes of resilience and care. What will it take for us to entwine our roots with Mystery’s, let our bodies nurture Them, and let Its voices stretch from our mouths with all the magic we can give the world around us?

This will be a ritual of giving and receiving. A ritual of seeking, listening, and connecting. A ritual where every act is an act of magic, and our best allies are our closest. Bring your open hearts, your deepest desires, and your witches’ senses who perceive Spirit peeking in from everywhere.

COVID Safety: We encourage (but do not require) taking an antigen test before attending and and encourage everyone to be vaccinated. Masks will be optional at this event, since it is outside. Please do not attend if you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or have been exposed to a person positive with COVID-19.

Who is Baltimore Reclaiming?

Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are a group of witches, artists, pagans, healers, activists, queers, priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world.

Cost: Baltimore Reclaiming does not charge for our events, but we do have considerable expenses which include renting the space and buying supplies for the ritual! We recommend a $10-$20 donation per person. You can bring cash or send money ahead of time via PayPal to ritual@baltimorereclaiming.org or via Venmo to 303-819-7843. No one is turned away for lack of funds. You are fully welcome regardless of your ability to financially donate.

Drugs & Alcohol: All Baltimore Reclaiming events are drug and alcohol free. We respectfully request that you do not use drugs or alcohol before or while attending our events.
