Fall Equinox

  • Druid Hill Park 3001 East Dr Baltimore, MD 21217 (map)

Hi y’all! We’ll be meeting at 4:30 in Druid Hill today (10/7). We will meet at the Susquehannock pavilion, but may not have that space. If another group is using that space when we get there, we will set up nearby with some tables and gym mats Zac is providing.

Update, 9/22: Hey there witches! This weekend it’s likely that a tropical-like storm is going to stall over our area, bringing a lot of rain and wind with it. Because we have folks who commute quite a ways to our events, we’re postponing our potluck and encouraging people to keep their weekend plans flexible and light on nonessential travel, especially on Saturday.

We will reschedule our event for Saturday, October 7. Plan A is that we’ll host in Druid Hill Park if it’s nice out. Plan B, if it’s going to be another bad weather day, is that we’ll move it to R House in the Remington neighborhood.

Thanks for your understanding! We will see you soon.

Fall Equinox with Baltimore Reclaiming
Susquehannock Pavilion off Red Road at
Druid Hill Park behind the Baltimore City Recreation and Parks administrative building. The address for the admin building is 3001 East Dr, Baltimore, MD 21217.
4:30–7:30pm

Please arrive no earlier than 4:30 for a 5:00 start.

Intention: To enjoy being with other witches while we watch the sun set on Equinox.

Ritual Description:
Hi there! Please join Baltimore Reclaiming for our annual Fall Equinox potluck. This is not a formal ritual, more of a time for us to come together and take in the last bits of summer and mark the change to the autumn season.

We will gather for sharing food. We will have a swap table. If anyone is interested, we may also do a spell/magical story share. In the past, people have brought drums and other instruments for impromptu drum circles.

Around sunset, we will meditate together.

 You may bring:

  • Food or nonalcoholic drinks to share (please label for dietary restrictions, and remember that we are a sober community).

  • Family (this park is kid- and pet-friendly, so all are welcome).

  • Things for the swap, musical instruments if you want, tarot cards, anything that would make for a good witchy picnic!

Getting to us: Susquehannock Pavilion is an octagonal structure in the park on East Drive. There is parking near the pavilion. Specific details about the location will be posted closer to the event, but signs in the park will point you to where you want to go.

About Baltimore Reclaiming:

Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are a group of witches, artists, pagans, healers, activists, queers, priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world. New to Baltimore Reclaiming and not sure what to expect at our rituals? Check out https://www.baltimorereclaiming.org/rituals.

About Fall Equinox: On Fall Equinox, we acknowledge that the days are growing shorter, and that we are in the last moments of the year where the sun will be in the sky longer than 12 hours a day. This is a time of preparation: bringing in the last of the summer harvests, planting winter crops, diving deeper into studies, and generally preparing for winter. It's also a time of celebration, as autumn and winter festivals are just around the corner! And, it's a time to simply reflect on how the year has grown, what must be put to rest, what needs to change, and what is needed to sustain us when resources are scarce.

Cost: Baltimore Reclaiming does not charge for our events, but we do have considerable expenses which include renting the space and buying supplies for the ritual! We recommend a $10-$20 donation per person. You can bring cash or send money ahead of time via PayPal to ritual@baltimorereclaiming.org or via Venmo to 443-235-2007. No one is turned away for lack of funds. You are fully welcome regardless of your ability to financially donate.

Drugs & Alcohol: All Baltimore Reclaiming events are drug and alcohol free. We respectfully request that you do not use drugs or alcohol before or while attending our events.

Scent Policy: We strive to accommodate people who have chemical and scent sensitivities. Please keep these people in mind as you make choices about wearing scented personal hygiene products.

What to Expect: New to Baltimore Reclaiming? Visit our Rituals page to learn more about what to expect at an event.

Dress Code: Wear whatever you like! You are welcome to wear everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a tuxedo. Often, people like to wear something special for ritual which might mean a favorite dress, a special shawl, a flower crown, or something else. We encourage you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.
