2:00 pm

Clifton Pleasure Club Yard

2803 Grindon Ave, Baltimore, MD 21214 (accessible by the 28 and 54 bus lines)

Ritual Description: This year we have spent time traversing the Pentacle of Care. As we close our ritual arc of the year at Beltane, we come back from the point of Creativity back through Interdependence to complete our cycle.

We wove the spell of healing at Samhain, inviting our Interdependence with our ancestors and descendants. We strengthened our boundaries to protect us at Winter Solstice, while embracing our Vulnerabilities. We lit our candles at Imbolc and harmonized into Integrity. We centered our wisest selves with Creativity at Spring Equinox. As we turn the Wheel into Beltane, we watch the seeds of care we planted this season grow to fullness.

We have spun this thread of healing from point to point in the Care Pentacle throughout the year; now we twist the cords together, braiding Baltimore Reclaiming into a Community of Care.

We’ve changed within ourselves and within our community. What are we manifesting outwardly? How do we care for our Community, the people in our community? How do we ask for and receive care from our community for ourselves? As we seal this Care Pentacle and light the Beltane fires, how do we carry this work forward with us into the future?

COVID-Safety: Please remember to wear your mask at the Clifton Pleasure Club. We also ask that we keep our in-person ritual events limited to members (those who have been to a BR event (live or virtual) in the past 2 years). Members may bring a guest.

Donations: Baltimore Reclaiming does not charge for ritual admittance, but we do incur costs for running rituals. If you are inclined to donate, you can do that in person with cash, or Venmo RPC treasurer, Zac @Zac-Lawhon. Suggested donation is $10-$20.

What is Beltane? Beltane is a May Day festival commonly celebrated on May 1st. In modern Witchcraft traditions it is celebrated as a cross-quarter holiday, marking the balance point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Traditionally, Beltane is a celebration of the imminent arrival of Summer, and often saw blessings and protective magics for cattle and fields. This festival is often commemorated with bonfires, maypoles, dancing, and performing fertility rituals.

Who is Baltimore Reclaiming? Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are a group of witches, artists, pagans, healers, activists, queers, priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world.
